Athiests I have a question. You often assume that your position is a neutral position requiring no evidence?
But this is really not true. If you are a true atheist you are declaring a position of knowledge that God can not logically exist. If this is true than there is as much an onus on you to meet a burden of proof as there is on the theist to prove the existence of God. Would you think they weren’t ready to be married and would rather be alone? I wrote a question last night about this but my fiance ever since his mother passed called off the wedding. He always wanted a long engagement. He proposed december, 24th 2008 and he wanted to get married in 2011. His mother wanted us to get married in 2009 and I compromised with 2010. After his mom passed he postponed the wedding and now our date that was set is canceled and I have to wait for him to find himself. It just really hurts me because my dream of marrying him and sharing my life with him got taken away. I feel as though he took it away from me. He doesn’t like to talk about the wedding, and stuff. Whenever I mention it he’s like "we’ll talk about it when we get there". He’s trying to be a pro golfer and he’s almost there he said "when i make the tour we’ll get married". I have no idea how long that is..I just don’t want to be wasting my time. I was there for him beyond belief when his mom died, and never asked for anything from him. It just really hurts me because I use to be excited about it and now I feel as though I’m not allowed to be and I cry about it. I feel like he doesn’t give a shit about it anymore. His mom has been gone about a year now..and he’s still in that angry place. I don’t know what to do or how to deal with it..I got some helpful answers last night anyone else have some good answers? I just want him to pick a date but he is so freedom struck that I just don’t understand why he proposed to me then? What should I do? How can I get him to just relax and pick a date..it’s not that hard! How do i get him to get back excited about talking about it? He definitely doesn’t sound ready to settle down. Let him go and be by himself. Perhaps he will find what he is missing. Regardless, if he doesn’t want to get married, don’t push it. If you do talk him into it he’ll probably resent you after the wedding. Sorry.

I lost my Mom in June 2008. I’m still messed up about it. I can understand how he have wanted to change the plans after she passed. Getting married with your Mom only there in spirit is just awful. However, It does not sound like he still wants to get married at all. It doesn’t seem fair to you. Seems like you are torturing yourself. There’s that saying if you love it let it go, if it comes back then the love is meant to be (or something like that). Right now the vibe you’re sending out is a desperate one and that in a twisted way may be stroking his ego, and influence him to keep you holding on even tho me may already know he no longer wants marriage. I can only imagine how hard it is to let go if you really had your heart set on being with him. You are young and need to open up to the possibility that marrying him may not be good for your future. If my fiance wrote that I would ask him to re-examine what he wants in life before he makes a lifetime commitment to me. I wouldn’t want to be married to him a year and then have him say "hey I guess I didn’t want to get married after all", because that would be more devastating than him cancelling the wedding. Just ask him, tell him you don’t have to get married if he doesn’t want to (say this in a nice way). I think he doesn’t want to get married and is doing it because he feels obligated to do so. GE has had negative internet buzz lately. They are accused of functioning as the propaganda arm of Washington via MSNBC. There are reports that shareholders are being silenced etc.

I’ve also read that since GE is investing heavily in Climate Control products and services, they expect a quid pro quo from the administration in terms of policy, regulation, and grants.

GE is a pretty big company. I find it difficult to imagine that they can not dig themselves out eventually from the stupidity they have gotten themselves into. Probably one of the first things they should consider is dumping NBC on somebody else. It is sort of the network that never was. On the flip side of the coin there is the possibility that GE is just too big to manage properly. Sort of a goliath conglomerate.

GE is a conglomerate that invests in many things. There biggest problem right now is there financial division which took a big loss in the financial meltdown. When the financials start to turn around GE should start to gain.

Ge is not too big to fail. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. I believe they could downsize by selling ("spinning off") more of their unprofitable divisions, and by setting up a separate corporation for their "Climate Control" lines, and issuing shares of that new company to current GE shareholders. That way, we would have a choice of buying more, holding the new shares, or selling them. It would be a separate stand-alone company that would succeed or fail on its own merits.

Right now the whole company is way too big to manage effectively by Jeffrey Immelt and his VP’s.

From a scientific point of view, there are actually many things which could explain such phenomena. One explanation might be that the person doing the "magic" has a persuasive way of talking with someone. Another explanation could be that if the two lovers are willing to try "magic" to get them back together, that maybe it tricks their conscious mind into agreement with the subconscious. Generally, people who are subconsciously committed to another person will in the end search for evidence that supports the reasons why they should be together, and finally the conscious mind will come into agreement with the subconscious.

I have to agree with Michael. Subconsciously if two people really are in love, they will find a way to rationalize getting back together.

The magic doesn’t exist. Its the people and their intentions. If the subconscious mind and conscious mind come to an agreement, then yes its possible.

Do I know of any such things working? No. Are there witches in the community? Probably.

Ultimately though, bringing ex lovers back together again doesn’t insure ultimate success though.

After all, once separated you find that there are all sorts of other issues that come up.

Whew. I’d just create a software program that "learns" as more information becomes available. :-p Actually, a computer can learn, my IT professor told me he could easily write one that takes into consideration any new information it is given.
