What is the name of this track from Shawshank Redemption?
I’ve looked for the name of this track EVER since I saw the movie, and that was YEARS ago!!!!
Now i actually have the link to the youtube video which has the track in it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUhZuEtYW So
The track starts at about 17 seconds. It’s like this flute playing in the background, it’s very sad and relaxed at the same time. The song ends at about 1:23 when Morgan Freeman stops speaking.

PLEASE, if you know the name of this track let me know!! It’s not in the soundtrack of the movie either!

Lookout, The (2007)

IMDB rating: 7.40

Plot: An admired high school hockey player (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) with a bright future foolishly takes a drive in the night with his girl friend and two other friends with his headlights off with devastating results. The former athlete is left with a brain injury that prevents him from remembering many things for extended periods of time. To compensate, he keeps notes in a small notebook to aid him in remembering what he is to do. He also lives with a blind friend (Jeff Daniels) who aids him. Obviously, with the mental incapacitation, he is unable to have meaningful work. Thus he works as a night cleaning man in a bank. It is there he comes under the scrutiny of a gang planning to rob the bank. The leader (Matthew Goode) befriends him and gets him involved with a young woman (Isla Fisher) who further reels him in. After they get close and after reeling him in with his own failures, the bank plan unfolds. Confused but wanting to escape his current existence, he initially goes along with the scheme. After realizing he is being used, he attempts to stop the robbery, which of course immediately goes awry. Bruce McGill and Alberta Watson also co-star as the young man’s parents, who still search for the person that was there before the tragic crash.

How to handle a job interview?
I am currently on the lookout for a job as I have just completed my diploma studies. I will be 27 years old this year, and basically I have about 4 years of work experience.

I have had difficulties securing jobs since I left my last job in October 2008, which was one of the main reasons why I went on to take up a diploma. Currently, having just started looking for jobs again, I am beginning to worry if my being too quiet/introverted plays a part in my failure to impress my interviewers.

I suppose I could say I’ve been rather passive during interviews, as I seldom seem to take the initiative to be more interactive (eg. show enthusiasm in the job, company, position, etc). Sometimes when the interviewer asks me if I have any questions for them, I usually end up feeling a little stumped as to what to ask and I feel like I want to ask something (to show my interest) but my mind just to have gone blank. Would this mean that I was purely unprepared for the interview?

My character has always been a rather passive, shy, quiet type and socially, I am one who seldom initiates especially when it comes to new people. I am also starting to wonder if I have a lack of confidence. And I feel that all these are causing me to lose out and end up not getting further shortlisted or selected.

What are the typical questions I should/can ask during an interview in order to show the interviewer that I am genuinely interested in the position?

How can I boost my confidence and be more interactive and enthusiastic without thinking to myself "this isn’t me"? Or do I really have to "put on an act" just for the sake of impressing the interviewer by being who I’m not (in a sense)?

Baader Meinhof Complex, The (2008)

IMDB rating: 7.40

Plot: Germany in the 1970s: Murderous bomb attacks, the threat of terrorism and the fear of the enemy inside are rocking the very foundations of the yet fragile German democracy. The radicalised children of the Nazi generation lead by Andreas Baader, Ulrike Meinhof and Gudrun Ensslin are fighting a violent war against what they perceive as the new face of fascism: American imperialism supported by the German establishment, many of whom have a Nazi past. Their aim is to create a more human society but by employing inhuman means they not only spread terror and bloodshed, they also lose their own humanity. The man who understands them is also their hunter: the head of the German police force Horst Herold. And while he succeeds in his relentless pursuit of the young terrorists, he knows he’s only dealing with the tip of the iceberg.

When will the German film "The Baader Meinhof Complex" be released in the United States?
thanks

I would go to the film’s website and look for the release schedule. It is playing in the San Francisco area right now. It probably won’t go into wide release. If you live in or near a large city then it will probably come to your area soon.

Good idea for a story, yes or no. Contains gay material. Very long.?
It’s at an all-boys school.

It starts with this guy named Xavier, who is obsessed with a boy named Danton. He stalks him, takes his picture without him knowing, leaves a river of anonymous notes in his locker, and watches him through the window at home. Danton is thoroughly creeped out, but does not say anything until he is home alone one day and he notices things that point to someone having been in the house (all his drawers had been looked through but nothing taken, the window open, etc.)

He tells his brother who is the same age as him, and his brother tells their best friend, and the two of them decide they’ll find out who this guy is and stop him. They do find Xavier, beat him to a nub, and threaten his life.

The next day, the entire school knows about what happened. Immediately, some students are concerned for "poor Xavier" who was innocent and victimized, and some students are taken by Luke (Danton’s brother) and William’s ( their friend) action.

When Xavier does not stop talking about his obsession with Danton, some of the other boys kind of join him. This is where it loses some of it’s sexuality, because it becomes more of a principal than a human fixation. Danton represents innocence, sweetness, almost perfection, and the boys, after listening to Xavier, see that and so many other things that they become obsessed with as well for so many reasons, only some of them sexual.

When the obsession becomes stronger and Danton begins finding more notes in his locker, begins noticing people staring at him, he gets scared and more people join Luke and William in trying to stop the "freaks".

It slowly escalates, and finally, there’s an attempt by a few of the obsessives to kidnap Danton. This causes an uproar. The students are suddenly frantic. Those obsessed with Danton (or the idea of having/obtaining Danton) have to show up to his house, tap on the bathroom window while he’s taking showers, etc. Those who are hell-bent on protecting Danton follow him around, buy his lunch, and are all around on the lookout.

It gets extremely violent as they set out to destroy each other, to stop the other "side". Luke gets shot, not killed, just shot in the arm. There are stabbings. Rapes. Three selective deaths throughout the story. All associated with gang violence by the police.

There’s a theme of the adults in the story being very uninvolved.

There is a scene where Xavier is talking about how he never wanted it to be like this, how everybody is greedy and evil and all he ever did was love Danton.

Then there are Luke and William, who were concerned for Danton, and are baffled by those who are also "concerned" because the others seem more interested in hurting "freaks" like the ones obsessed with Danton.

It strays from actual Danton, but never /really/ does because everything is kind of motivated by him.

After Luke got shot, it all started to unravel. More than half the student body was directly involved in this, and the rest knew exactly what was going on. Kids were genuinely afraid to come to school because of all the violence and terror. Of the three deaths, one was of an obsessive, one was of a protector, and one was of this innocent guy who went to school and said the wrong thing.

It ends with the very disturbed Xavier bringing a gun, killing Danton, Luke, wounding William, killing one of the higher-ups of the obsessives, and then killing himself to "end the madness".

At the VERY end, the adults in the story, who had been extremely absent, are seemingly clueless to everything (including the deaths) and are asking the kids to sit down and do some schoolwork. It’s the first time that there’s a scene in the classroom.

I really like the idea. Please please write it and maybe I could read some of it? Please?

I think it could be very interesting, if you wrote it well enough to make it seem plausible. You would also have to do lots of planning with regard to structure, imagery, themes, characters and so on.

I would read it!

Good luck!

not bad.
has a bit of a manga theme to it though,
particularly with it’s revolving mostly around school/home
and having a small group of friends.

the plot seems a little weak here and there, but other than that it looks like a decent story.

for some reason some story’s become so much better when visually depicted.
and so personally i think it would make a better graphic novel than a plain novel.
so maybe you might have some one help you visualize the charters in the story.

So the fundies rear their ugly heads once again…read before you thumb this down please….why is it so many.?
pastors, priests, etc….kill children? in PA on christmas day yet. A pastor shot one of his families young kids at DINNER of all places. 12 families had come together to be united for that holiday. What drives the uber-religious to do these things? Everyone must remember the man in PA who shot all of those very very young school girls in the Amish school house, and let the boys and adults go. What is this about? why does religion breed pain for children so easily? I want a real psychological answer if anyone can get me on.
Now before you go saying I am ignorant or anything of that nature I come from a strict religious family on my mothers side. and both of my parents went to roman catholic church for schooling. both were beaten repeatedly growing up. I have seen so much violence upon children by fundamentalists of all religions that I have to wonder if the religion is part of the problem here.
I have also served in the military to uphold your religious beliefs and am not one to take anyone’s beliefs from them.
It was on the PA news this morning I have no link.
merry he was AMISH that along is fundamentalist mentality in an extreme!
gee first page I turned to got me a link
http://www.action3news.com/global/story. asp?s=11732400
you check the story I gave you a link
cajun I’ve studied this stuff most of my life so don’t go calling me sad. You are just uninformed and apparently slow on the uptake
I will accept the correction for the man in the Amish schoolhouse as being true. but, odd place for a person who’s not Amish to be teaching. I assume he was raised by some serious religious people. Now that is an assumption I don’t know his parents.
thank you for providing another link on this. He could have just shot him in the leg, why the chest! I’m agnostic/military and I am taught to shoot mostly to maim first, not kill unless there’s a target that must be down completely.
(((((T))))) long time no see
that is a fantastically written answer. I agree abnormal psychology twisted with major restrictions does breed seriously violent outward behavior.
Ok another example for the simplistically minded people who don’t read news or study about this sort of thing like I do.
What about the kids in those cults that were molested. We are talking hundreds here, not one or two or even 10.

(((W.S.)))

its hard to generalize with any real accuracy on something like this …or maybe it just hard for me right now lol… but in general strict moral codes like that, especially when institutionalized, breeds repression in people. also, western religions (in particular) tend to create up-down lineal thinking that makes people feel they are in the proverbial pecking order. if you put those two things together, repression (where some needs are not being met and emotions are being preasureized with no release) and the establishment of a hierarchy, you tend to get one of two reactions whenever someone cant cope with it: most likely, theyll take out their own issues on someone that they feel is lower then them in that hierarchy (like a child) or you’ll get someone lashing out at people they feel (correctly or not) have been contributing to their strife (like a sexually repressed man ‘revenging’ himself on random women that symbolically represent his failures with other women).
hope that helps, and hopefully some other answers come along with more info because admittedly theres a lot missing from mine.

You may wish to check your stories.

I am unfamiliar with the first you cite and would like to see some details. The Amish killer was NOT a pastor or a priest.

While much violence has been done by man in the name of religion, much as been done by man in the name of anti-religion as well. The common link is man can be very violent.

Religion breeds extremism in some, even to the point where one’s children are not as important as the beliefs.

All depends on the mentality of the individual I guess.

A BAD AMERICAN? you tell me. is this untrue, or unfair?
I am a BAD American.

I like big cars, big guns, and big tits. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid-level governmental functionary with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to crack addicts squeezing out babies.

I don’t think playing with guns makes you a killer. I don’t think being a minority makes you noble or victimized. I don’t care if you call me a racist, a homophobe or a misogynist. I know that no matter how big Jennifer Lopez’s ass gets, I’ll still want to see it.

I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac in America, you do it in English. I don’t use the excuse "it’s for the children" as a shield for unpopular opinions or actions. I want to know when MTV became such crap.

I know what the definition of "is" is. I didn’t take the initiative in inventing the Internet. I want them to bring back safe and sane fireworks.

I believe no one ever died because of something Ozzy Osborne, Ice-T or Marilyn Manson sang. I think that being an art student doesn’t give you any more insight than working at Blockbuster. I don’t want to eat or drink anything with the words light, lite or fat-free on the package.

I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God or gods, and they can do it in their schools. I think the WNBA is cool, as is the US Womens’ Soccer Team - because they kick ass. My heroes are John Wayne, Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Norman Schwartzkopf, Colin Powell and whoever canceled "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman".

I think creative violence and useless nudity and sex makes Iraqis deader and movies more interesting.

I don’t hate the rich. I don’t pity the poor. I think global warming is Chicken Little junk science.

I’ve never owned or was a slave, I didn’t wander forty years in the desert after getting chased out of Egypt. I haven’t burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you, so shut-the-hell-up already.

Rocky and Bullwinkle still makes me laugh. I think you can respect and admire women while mentally undressing them. I believe a self-righteous liberal with a cause is more dangerous than a 6 year old with a Play Station.

I want to know exactly which church it is where the Rev. Jesse Jackson preaches.

I think explosions are cool. I don’t care where Ellen DeGeneres puts her tongue. I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you’re running from them. I thought Spinal Tap was great, but Rob Reiner can still kiss my ass.

I worry about dying before I get even.

I like the convenience of buying oranges while I’m waiting at a stoplight, and I’m pretty sure the Latina girl selling them to me is glad she no longer lives in a refrigerator packing carton outside Ensenada.

I figured out Bruce Willis was dead midway through The Sixth Sense but enjoyed it anyway.

I think turkey bacon sucks.

I want somebody to explain to me exactly why it’s wrong to point out that when I watch a freeway chase, I know the losers the police eventually pull out of the car are not gonna be honor roll middle-class high school kids but gang-banging losers from the wrong side of town.

I believe that it doesn’t take a village to raise a child, it takes a parent with a firm voice and a firmer hand. I think tattoos and piercings are fine if you want them, but please don’t pretend they are a political statement and not a fad. I like hard women, hard liquor and a hard bowel movement first thing in the morning, and don’t even think about asking me if I want a rice cake.

I believe you don’t have to speak with a lisp to pick out a couch for your living room.

I’ll admit that the only movies that ever made me cry was "Sands of Iwo Jima" and "Ole Yeller". I didn’t realize Dr. Seuss was a genius until I had a kid.

I will not conform or compromise just to keep from hurting somebody’s feelings.

I’m neither angry nor disenfranchised, no matter how desperately the mainstream media would like the world to believe otherwise.

YES, I am a BAD American.

How do you feel about running for President ;-)

well that was interesting. i’ve decided not to criticize your opinions because i respect the fact that you could analyze yourself thoroughly and accurately. but to answer the question some of your statements were untrue and unfair but many were not and i think that goes for everyones opinions.
Mr. Goodadvice | Apr 02, 2008

Well Steve
It all depends on whose "scale" you’re using as the benchmark for the "good / bad" ratio in this litany of things that you have used to describe your views !
According to the mainstream media and the powers that be…. not being so politically correct as to shy away from labels and centering around the mauve middle ground on issues…. makes you Very Bad indeed
But, from a view that America has always consisted, at its heart, of people who had their own distinct way of seeing things…. would see you in the performance in center ring on THAT front…. AS an individual … and, in that … you would certainly be seen as a True American… if not a good one !!
I can’t see eye to eye with you on a number of the points that you have brought out here….but, can see, very easily, where you’re coming from…. and, it is just fine by me ! And, I think…. THAT’s what makes ME a Good American !!
LARRY J7 | Apr 02, 2008

No your not a bad American, I just think you watch to much TV or you must live in a large city.

If you think that the government has just been giving away money to crack addicts who squeeze out babies your wrong.

Many people in America have lost there jobs and have actually burned their homes to try and collect insurance because it was about to be foreclosed.
They have worked hard their whole life’s and have come on hard times because of NAFTA or some other program where the government pays big corporations to outsource.

If it were up to me I would rather give my money to a crack addict to help her babies then a big corporation to take away American jobs.

As for the global warming issue, most all scientists now agree that it is happening. You and I are not scientists but I have noticed change in the world.
You might not like nature but we are apart of it. If nature is destroyed so are we. I am not saying that we are the total cause but we have to be helping it along.

I am not asking people to stop using gas but lets get real, if allot of people cut back and use it only when necessary or have don’t buy gas days we might force the government to find another way to power our big cars and SUVs cause I like them also.
The government has kept other way to power cars and homes under wraps.
There has to be a better way and some one has the answer.

Why my mom shouted at me just because i stayed all of my afternoon in my 4th floor room? she said that it's ho?
Why my mom shouted at me just because i stayed all of my afternoon in my 4th floor room? she said that it’s hot there? she asked me why i didn’t stay at the 1st floor room. in fact, the 1st floor room is not belong to me anymore because she gave it to my cousin to stay to study since i went to another city to study. i don’t wanna be in my cousin room because it’s uncomfortable for both of us. i want my own room.i said that i’m ok when i’m at the 4th one but why she keep shouted at me, she said that i’m stupid. does she hate me or her hobby is only shouting at me? why my home has 2 more free rooms but my mom gave my room to her and keep these 2 room free and banned me to come there because according to her, they are dank but i don’t think they are so. i just return home about 2 months a year but why she still want to hurt me? If she love me, i think she didn’t give my room to my cousin instead of the other 2 free room. if she love me, she keep my room for me to stay in whenever i return home. i’m her daughter or my cousin is her daughter? am i her adopted child?

Hey, cool it. I don’t think your Mom loves you any less for wanting you to be comfortable and not too hot.
Sit down quietly with her when she’s not busy and put your point over nice and calmly.

If you are only there for 2 months out of the year why should your cousin live upstairs? Realistically, she doesn’t think less of you, your still her child! She yelled at you because "its too hot", and she’s concerned about your health. If you get sick because of the heat she would have to take you to the hospital due to dehydration. Which isn’t a fun trip.
