Movie quote analysis?
I just want to know what this quote means from the movie, Road To Perdition. It’s the scene where Michael Sullivan is going to shoot John Rooney, and Rooney says "I’m glad (at/it’s?) you". And what does he mean by saying this? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
It refers to the long, long working relationship that Sullivan and Rooney share. Rooney knew that he’d die violently, so he was glad to die at the hand of his old friend and protege.

I haven’t seen the movie, but I can make an educated guess.
Michael Sullivan and John Rooney have a passed? Are they friends or enemies? Either way… John Rooney means if someone was going to catch? kill? him, he’s glad it was this man, because anyone else would make Rooney’s death less. if he’s going to be killed, he doesn’t want it to be by some bum he’s never met through some unfortunate accident.

it means that he respects sullivan, and loves him like a son, and would rather be killed by him than by a rival mobster.
