bogeyman and halloween?
hey u see i remember when i was little watching halloween (all of them) i remember that there was some bogeyman in the movie and i don’t remember what halloween movie it was it was but i do remember that it had to do with a baby that had a curse mark on his belly and that person who gived him that curse mark was some guy in black

The "bogeyman" was actually (as called in Halloween fandom) the "man in black". The man in black was the leader of a cult called "Thorn". The idea of the cult was that each generation they watched over, protected, the new individual cursed with "thorn", a curse that makes someone kill his entire family. Michael Myers had apparently been given this curse as a child and the group was watching over him and protecting him.

In the 3rd film they were preparing to give "thorn" to a boy named Danny, the son of the female protagonist Kara, by having Michael kill his final victim, Jamie Lloyd’s baby, and a lose his powers of invincibility as a result. Then thorn would go to Danny and he would kill his mother as his first victim.

Confusing isn’t it? just imagine watching it play out on screen. The storyline was used mainly in Halloween 4-6. That was when the Halloween movies definitely took a turn for the worse.

The cult storyline was used in Halloween 4-6 but only really used as a main plot point in Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers.

I find it to be absolutely ridiculous that the bible feeds us all kinds of lies and contradictions about "love your enemy", and yet, we see mass slaughter of suckling infants and innocent boys, girls, unarmed men, women (old and young), and innocent domestic farm animals by the tens of thousands! It is clear that the inconsistent man-altered, man-corrupted and morally corrupt bible is nothing but a false book, and can not be a Divine and Perfect Holy Book!

I do not believe that this bible which is among us is the word of God therefore im not blaming God for the violence but the blame goes on those who have changed the words of god to justify their violence!
and the blame goes on the people who call themselves "close to god" and who constantly acknowledge this sensless book as a word of God?
i really do find this funny,how can u say that God supported evil before eg for israelis and then ammended evil to good for christians,again im not opposing God rather im just trying to understand what makes christians acknowledge such violence and at the same time condeming a tiny minority of others for it?

There is no support of pedophilia in the Bible, so it’s completely dishonest to say that there is.

Now, as for the "terrorism": That was a retaliation for what was done to the Israelites. (Most) Jews are some of the most peaceful people on the planet, yet their Scriptures are full of the Israelites warring with their neighbors. What should that tell you? That perhaps these wars are a part of their history? That perhaps bloodshed is human nature, and the Bible is honest about it?

Also, Psalm 137 is a poem, written in anger. Read the whole thing, you’ll understand. It’s not talking about literally dashing children against rocks.

Revelation also isn’t speaking of killing literal children. The word in this case would have been better translated as "offspring", but not in a literal sense.

Am I the kind of guy a girl wants? A bit of reading required.?
My friends always tell me that they have never met anyone like me at all. Even people that I just met tell me I’m a very different kind of guy. What can you tell me about a wraith?
What do you do if you have what is more or less a silent guardian? Where I live there’s a castle commonly referred to as "Givens Castle" that was built in 1886 by an Irishman trying to convince his wife to move to the states.

The better known spirit is that of a girl who died of influenza there when it was an all-girls school in the early 1900’s. A girl in a gown appears to comfort those who have lost loved ones when wakes are being held there.

Other happenings include free-floating candles, unexplainable sounds of a party in the second floor when there is nobody present. And lastly, and Phantom clad in black.

The Phantom is who I’m here to talk about. I live directly behind this castle, and often meditate outdoors due to the woodland-ish nature of my backyard. On several occasions, I have seen a black cloaked figure float past my field of vision. I don’t always see him. But I feel him with me.

He doesn’t seem to want to hurt me… And I came to that conclusion when I had a dream. It was a ceremony and I was asked to attend. When I reach the entrance, I am stopped and asked where my guardian is. I have no idea what the person is talking about. He then seems very intimidated and he takes out a piece of paper and sketches something, giving it to me. It’s the phantom from the castle. I turn around and see nothing, but the man continues to tremble heavily and lets me pass.

I also have friends who have asked me to summon him. I’m able to. They describe him as a fellow in a black cloak with green eyes. After asking around, he seems to be a wraith, my friend has dubbed him "Mr. Knight". I try not to bother him.

If some of my friends can see him, why can’t I? And why would he be interested in me?

Where as the Ark had over 50,000 animals (this includes cutting out all the variations), 2 million insects, 7 people and enough provisions for a year….

My question is, how would the animals not freeze being so high up in the atmosphere (29,955 ft, 20 feet higher then Everest)
How did the Fresh water fish live when the salt water mixed with the fresh water too?

The Noah’s Ark story is an allegory - a teaching story. It is an inspired adaptation of several earlier "great flood" stories, such as the epic of Gilgamesh.

Only the fundamentalists try to take this and the other Genesis stories literally. While the majority of Christians (including Catholics) and even most Jews know that the language is metaphorical.

The message is what’s important - the moral truth - not the wording.

You bring up some of the many absurdities in the tale of Noah’s Ark. I don’t see how people could argue that it’s literally true and keep a straight face. Many modern Christians and Jews now say that the story is simply a teaching myth. It’s not a literal historical event, but instead a fable meant to give a lesson about redemption.

But anyway, yeah, you make an excellent point. But maybe Everest wasn’t very high back then, maybe mountains suddenlly got VERY tall in the past thousand years through a miracle, we’ll never know.

But yeah, come to think of it, how could that entire story be true? There must be some exaggerations here and there. Maybe some land animals and insects were made for the water back then and didn’t need the ark or they just made MANY different species since those 4,000 years faster than people have scientifically asumed. Who knows? Because assuming science is true and they disagree with the concept of possible miracles, then there’s no way the story can be entirely be true.

I’m not a Christian and I think many Christian beliefs are ridiculous. Also, don’t you think the wood would have rotted, leaked, and broke in half given all the weight of all that life onboard? And It doesn’t support it like a metal ship could. Metal is much stronger than wood.

Its simple, God has control over everything. If he did not want them to freeze then I am sure he could make a way. The story of the ark is true, but is a story of how God himself will make a way for us to be with him. If you notice in the story, Noah did not shut the door, God himself shut it. If we listen to God in our lives, he will make a way of escape from evil. He did this with his Son Jesus Christ. The ark is a representation of God himself. Noah followed Gods commands and God saved him and his family.
Its a really great story that emulates God love toward us.

Of course something doesn’t add up…first of all there were no aquatic animals on the boat..they could have survived in the water…the insects were brought by vegetation…God had Noah bring animals that He had created in the beginning…therefore the number would be drastically lower…All the species that exist today have been altered from their original state…like the dog, how many breeds of these do we have and where did they originate from…easy grey wolf…people get into all the hermeneutics into this and its absolutely silly…God was able to place as many animals as He had created in the beginning and gave Noah the dimensions of the boat to accommodate them…

why is my fiance acting selfish and one sided?
My whole life revolves around my fiance, i love her to death (which is why i asked her to marry me)! i dont know how to handle her selfishness anymore though and its killing me. Every day i try and make her happy, do what she wants to do, listen to what she wants, watch what she wants, eat what she wants, everything. She goes out to the bar all the time because she wants fun time with her friends, and need to get out, but i have to stay at home and watch the dogs or take them with me. she makes as much money as me and i pay all the bills including rent and the rest goes to her or us. All of her money goes to her as well. the most upsetting thing is that yesterday was my birthday. I asked for one very simple thing especially for a fiance. I asked for one romantic night alone with her. So i rented a beautiful hotel room at an awesome resort for the night. so what does she do? she wants to hang out with her brother so she asks him and his fiance to spent the night after i begged her not to. she gets the other 364 days a year, i just wanted one measly day. so as you can assume there is no romance last night with her brother 3 feet away. she says we can go in the bedroom and have a romantic night anyways. Im thinking fine im pissed but whatever we’ll make it work. so we went to the room and started watching TV, she says ok I’m tired night, I’m not going to have a romantic night with you when I’m tired. I told her that spending one night alone at a beautiful place was all i wanted for my birthday and she couldnt even do that because she wanted to hang out with her brother. then i went to work today and came home and she wasnt here, i called her and she says shes going to a superbowl party and she doesnt want me to come becuase she wants alone time with these people. my phone is broken so i have no numbers, no one to call, no one can call me so i have to sit at home alone once again. what do i do?

It sounds to me like you need to re-think where you are going with your life. It sounds like she is very selfish and she will only get worse. You shouldn’t depend on other people for your own happiness, and why should you do everything that she wants. Remember, you are a person and have your own mind. wants and needs. It seems like she isn’t giving anything up for you and you are making all the sacrifices. I think you need to have your life without her in it. There are a lot of other women out there who would appreciate your thoughtfulness. Think twice before you marry her. Make a list, on one side do all the pro’s and on the other side do all the con’s. When you see it on paper it will tell you what you need to do.

Rosemary’s Baby is deinitely the best one.

The Crucible is a decent film, but sorry people, it’s not about witchcraft at all. It’s about women being falsely accused of being witches. There is zero witchcraft in it.

Witches of Eastwick is not glamorized, it’s a farce/comedy.

The Craft is a glamorized teen movie. And it’s shit!
