Anemia in pregnancy - Is it harmful?
I have just found out I have anemia and I am 30 weeks pregnant. I have been prescribed iron tablets. Could this condition harm my unborn baby or cause labour complications?
lots of women have anemia and become pregnant and lots of women develop it during pregnancy and its just fine.. Its not going to harm your baby at all you still are going to have a healthy pregnancy & Labor. I have lots of friends who have it got pregnant and everything is just fine.

You will be just fine! and baby too!
Anemia is very common during pregnancy and you are on suppliments so you will be fine.
If anything just you would notice symptoms of it, ie-fatigue.
Good Luck!

Don’t panic, with each pregnancy i have been told i am anemic and need iron tablets in the last weeks of pregnancy, it wont hurt you or baby (unless severe) although you would become very tired without iron tablets, i was informed by my midwife that theyprefer to prescribe iron tablets for all pregnant women in the third stage who are a little anemic as it helps to build strength for the labour, i found alot of help from them(although disliked the black poo), keep well hydrated though or you may suffer constipation, goodluck with impending birth xx

I found out I am anemic when I was 32 weeks.
My doctor has me taking Slow FE Iron pills. He said that everything should be fine and it will not harm the baby.
He said the only potential risk would be that if I didn’t get my iron levels up by delivery and I lost a lot of blood, that I could possibly need a blood transfusion.
Since taking the iron pills though, my levels are closer to where he would like them to be. So you should be fine, especially since you are starting early. Just keep taking the iron pills.
Also a word of advice, I get heartburn a lot, my doctor told me to wait 4 hours before or after taking the iron pills to take antacids. He said that the calcium will block the iron absorption.
Good luck with everything and CONGRATULATIONS!

well i was diagnosed with anemia since i was 8 weeks pregnant and i have been taking my iron tablets, don’t worry you’ll be fine as long as you make sure to take them i saw immediate results, i felt less tired and had more energy, and when i had my bloods taken at 28 weeks i was told my hb levels have gone up dramatically so thats a good sign as long as you take them you should be fine by the time delivery comes around

I think you will be fine
just take care of yourself
It you feel sick like really bad
make sure you go to the dr.
My friend almost died cause he
bf who as an asshole didn’t
want to take her to the hospital
and when he did take her it was later
& he just dropped her off on
the front door and left next thing
you know she past out & I don’t know
what else and they had machines
connected to her & a bunch of stuff
& she was 6months pregnant & she
had her baby but she was not conscious.
When she woke up her eyes were blood
shock and all the white part where red
because of the blood. I don’t know she
had a bad experience.. It was due to here
being anemic and because she got
severely sick & didn’t go to the hospital
till later.
